Please come out to help if you can; and spread the word!

Join Rock Creek Conservancy and the National Park Service as we remove invasive bamboo from Glover Archbold Park.

Invasive species are among the biggest issues plaguing this urban park. We invite you to join Rock Creek Conservancy to help keep this “mini-oasis” clean. We hope to see you there!

Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help remove invasive bamboo from a hillside in the western section of Glover Archbold Park, a section of Rock Creek Park. There is still bamboo to cut, but job one is going to be loading up the bamboo (that has already been cut down) into a dumpster. Volunteers will also piggy pack on the progress made last month by removing more invasive honeysuckle bushes.

When:
Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM &

Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Where: Volunteers will meet at 44th St NW and Foxhall Rd NW. There is limited street parking, so volunteers are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation. The nearest bus stop (Foxhall Rd NW & MacArthur Blvd NW) is a one-minute walk from the meeting spot and is accessible via the D5 and D6 bus.
